Tip the butternut squash into a bowl, add 2 tbsp water then cover and microwave for 5 minutes until soft. Leave to cool slightly then tip into a bowl and mash with the back of a fork.
Add the milk, oats, maple syrup, protein powder and spices then stir together. Cover the bowl and chill overnight.
When ready to eat, give the mixture a good stir before topping with the pecans.
