Why did you decide to the sign up to the 90 Plan SSS Plan?
One morning I woke up, got ready for work, looked in the mirror and did not like what I saw. I didn’t like that feeling. I came into contact with The Body Coach on Instagram. I bought the cookbook when it was released in the States and fell in love with the food and bought into the philosophy. I decided I needed to invest in myself and went all in for the 90 day challenge.
What were you hoping to achieve?
I was tired of not liking what I saw in the mirror. I wanted to feel good about myself, lose weight, and increase my energy. I wanted a life overhaul.
What did you find most difficult and how did you overcome it?
Planning the meals. This became fun after a while but I was not used to cooking for myself when I started the plan. I had to learn the basics of shopping. I learned what I should always keep on hand in my kitchen. I had to learn how to cut up veggies and how to prep meat. Now I am actually confident in the kitchen and have discovered how to plan my own meals without being tied to a recipe.
What did you love most about the 90 Day SSS Plan?
The food. Definitely the food. The first recipe I ever tried of Joe’s was before I even started the 90 Day SSS Plan. It was chorizo, tomatoes, and eggs. It became a favourite. I love the fact that the meals are not bland and that I can eat and still lose weight.
Did you do the training at home or in the gym?
That was one of the best parts, I did most of my workouts at the gym but there were days when I was unable to make it to the gym and the plan was flexible enough that I could do the workouts at home.
How did make the plan fit into your lifestyle?
I prepped in advance. The plan really helped me to establish a discipline in my daily life that I lacked prior. This discipline was one of the reasons that the plan began to change and impact other areas of my life. I worked out of a morning. Before bed I would pull out my meals (which I had prepped over the weekend and froze) and pack them for the next day for me to take with me when I got up.
What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learnt on the plan?
Planning and discipline are essential for success. This plan would not have worked for me if I didn’t plan things. It is not something you can do in a “fly by the seat of your pants” method.
Protein pancakes or build-up bagel?
Build-up bagel, hands down.
What was your all-time favourite recipe on the 90 Day SSS Plan?
Guilt-free chicken tikka masala.
What surprised you the most about the plan?
That it was doable. This plan fit well into my life and I began to see results so quickly. Others began to notice within the first month. It was amazing to wake up feeling awesome.
What exercise would you most like to punch in the face?
What did you have for breakfast today?
Bagel with spicy cream cheese, chorizo, and egg with tomatoes, onions, and spinach.
What’s your ultimate workout song?
“I’m Still Standing” sung by Taron Egerton in the movie “Sing”.
What would be the best piece of advice you would give someone who is just starting the plan?
You can do this. It is hard at times but the results are worth it. Joe’s philosophy works and if you will put in the effort you will see the changes that you want to see.
Is there anything you’d like to say to your Support Hero?
Roddy was absolutely amazing. I contacted him less as time went on mainly because I had more confidence and therefore less questions but that first cycle I sent almost a weekly email and he was always responsive. He was very encouraging and bragged on me a lot. I don’t know if he knows how much of a motivation and source of encouragement he was to me without ever officially meeting me. He pushed me and provided me the resources I needed to smash this challenge. Thanks Roddy. I really couldn’t have done it without you.
